Depth of Field/Aperture
This set of photos were taken in class with a digital SLR on a tripod. I used some old jars and kid's wind of toys as my subjects. I set it up so the objects were staggered to show depth. In my opinion, the shallow depth of field photo is better. The blurry parts bring out the main focus and makes the subject stand out. Shallow depth of field is great when a photographer wants to focus on one subject. When a large depth of field is good to use when you want to capture a lot or a whole piece, like a landscape.
Image one has a large depth of field. I created this by using a larger aperture, F18. I also used the manual focus tool to make all the objects in focus.

Image two has a shallow depth of field. I created this by using a smaller aperture, F4. I also used manual focus tool to make the foreground in focus and the background blurry.
